584 Tons of Fishery Products from Central Java Exported to Various Countries
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo released exports of 584 tonnes of marine fishery products from Central Java worth Rp. 52 billion to various destination countries in the period 12-17 April 2021.
"Today's export is a sign of the revival of marine and fishery products from Central Java," said Ganjar at the BKIPM Semarang Office, Wednesday (14/4/2021).
Ganjar appreciated the export of fishery products because many entrepreneurs produce high quality products.
"Indeed, there are still transportation problems and some countries are still closed, but this initiative was carried out by the Minister of Marine Fisheries so that we can survive, hopefully it will inspire others," he said.
Ganjar admitted that he was surprised to find out that fishery products in the form of crabs from Central Java were a favorite in the United States.
Apart from crabs, fishery and marine products such as surimi from Indonesia are also in demand by big countries such as China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
Head of BKIPM Semarang Raden Gatot Perdana added that hundreds of tons of exported fishery products came from 11 companies in Central Java.
He said that the export volume of fishery products from Central Java to destination countries in the first quarter of the January-March 2021 period reached 10,006 tons with a value of IDR 742 billion.
"This achievement has decreased compared to the same period in 2020, namely the export volume of 14,530 tons or Rp. 774 billion," he said. (*)
